Where to find emergency accommodation and housing support in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield.

We understand how scary it must be to find yourself on the street with nowhere to turn, we also recognise that if a person encounters a rough sleeper, they may not know what advice to give them. Hopefully, the information on this page will be enough to get someone the initial help and guidance that they need.  We will obviously follow up all information passed to us but for those times when we cannot be there, please make use of the information below.

Reporting a rough sleeper

If the person appears to be in immediate danger you should call 999.

If you are aware of someone who is sleeping rough, contact Streetlink, use their mobile app or call 0300 500 0914 to report the person (you will need details of where they’re sleeping). This information goes to local services who can connect with them and refer them to services in our area who can help them.

Please also contact us so that we can pass this information on to our support teams.

If the person is under 18, please contact Child Services.

Not from the UK?

Please bear in mind that emergency accommodation is only available for those who have a right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, If you do not have this right, you are not entitled to accommodation. Whilst this makes the situation more difficult, we work with anyone sleeping rough, regardless of their circumstances, so please still contact us

A day centre offering showers, laundry facilities, support, classes, a safe mail address and breakfast club.

The Orchard, Salvation army
Provides beds in direct access acccommodation for men and women with low support needs. You can self-refer.

Provides temporary emergency accommodation for single homeless women, aged 16 and upwards.

Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP)

When the weather goes below zero degrees cold weather protocols are activated, which means anyone can access a bed for the night and no one will be turned away. Contact numbers for accommodation during SWEP are:
