Get started with these ideas for fundraising

  • Take on a challenge

Inspired by the dangers those who are homeless in summer face, Tim and his friends Sarah and Jim decided to challenge themselves to swim the Wast Water Lake to raise funds for Simon on the Streets. Their efforts raised over £1,000!

  • Weddings and Gifts

If you are celebrating your big day and would like to give back to those in need, you could ask guests to donate to Simon on the Streets rather than buying gifts.

  • Give something up

Rich at Get Park Fit shaved off his beard to raise funds for Simon on the Streets, raising £750! Getting sponsored to give something up or go without something is a great way to raise funds.

  • Barbeque

    Organise an event

Hosting an event, no matter how big or small, is a fantastic way to make a difference. You could host a tea party or a BBQ and collect a donation for the delicious food you make. Or you could organise a competition or quiz and have a suggested donation for entry.

  • Virtual challenge

Challenge yourself to walk/run/cycle a distance – decide on a distance and then pick your time frame. You could choose to walk 10 miles a day for a month or run from one coast to another in a week. You can track your progress on an app to share with your supporters and use JustGiving to collect your funds!

  • Virtual quiz

Host your very own virtual quiz – use Zoom, Skype or any video conferencing platform to host a quiz with your friends, family and colleagues. Ask the participants to provide a donation to join the quiz and have some fun whilst raising money for a good cause.

Sam decided to run a charity event at her hair salon to help homeless people. She chose Simon on the Streets because she liked that our support is offered on the streets and is tailored to each individual.

Your fundraising helps us support people like Erik

Erik had no recourse to public funds and was not able to receive housing support or universal credit. Erik was offered a place in our EU supported accommodation, where we continued to support him. He is now in a home of his own.

Read Erik's story or see more stories.

"Erik has now moved into his own home and is learning English. He visits the hospital regularly and his health has improved a lot."
