Callum: why people return to sleeping rough

Providing a place to stay is rarely the only solution for the people we support. This is because homelessness is a complex issue and access to housing is not the only solution. Our service users often return to sleeping rough after time off the streets – in a hostel, b&b or supported accommodation.

Yorkshire Choice Awards

Simon on the Streets have been chosen as the Yorkshire Choice Awards charity of the year! We are so grateful for their support and are looking forward to our partnership with them.

Farid's story

One of our outreach workers has been supporting Farid (real name not used). When our outreach worker first met Farid, he had just been granted asylum in Leeds, having left his home country due to war. Farid had been in the UK for a while, and although he was not able to work, he had been spending his free time as a volunteer translator for a charity, as he wanted to give back.
