Are you passionate about helping those individuals who are at an extremely vulnerable stage in their lives? Do you have the drive to deliver that support in the heart of the city of Leeds? Do you have the compassion and experience to provide that support specifically to women who desperately need our help?

Simon on the streets have an exciting opportunity to deliver gender specific work to the homeless and vulnerable women in the city after receiving funding through Homeless Link and the Tampon Tax.

The role is for a gender specific outreach worker to deliver emotional and practical support to women who are homeless or in unsafe accommodation. You will deliver trauma informed support on a one to one basis through daily outreach on the street or in temporary accommodation. The role will work closely with all partners especially St Anne’s community centre where we work with women who are accessing the Safe Space gender specific temporary accommodation project. You will befriend, signpost and advocate for women while increasing their confidence and address any unmet needs. You will need to be physically fit as you walk around Leeds on outreach during the day but also on some evening and early morning sessions. Part of the role will also be to promote gender specific services across partner agencies.

Some experience of working with women who have or are facing homelessness would be an advantage, but we are concentrating more on the right person joining the team who is positive, confident, understanding and shows empathy in some of the most difficult situations.
