Rohan's Story

Life can change in an instant. We want to share the story of Rohan*, who our outreach team recently supported.

He was working every day, living a normal life. Then, one day at work, a slip and a bang to the head started a devastating chain reaction. Initially feeling unwell, a doctor's visit revealed that he was incredibly lucky not to be paralysed or lose his speech.

The diagnosis meant crutches and a long, uncertain recovery – months, possibly years. Unable to continue his job due to the injury, he sadly lost his income, and consequently, his home.

Rohan found himself sleeping rough on the streets.

That's where our team came in. We found him, listened to his story, and began providing immediate support, especially focusing on his health needs – his feet were in particularly bad shape from exposure.

The incredible news? After months of support, Rohan is now SAFE INDOORS in temporary accommodation!

He shared, "I can shower and cook and feel like a normal person again."

Those everyday actions mean dignity and hope have returned.

We're committed to continuing our support as he recovers and rebuilds.

Thank you for helping us be there for people like Rohan. Help us continue to fight for and support those experiencing homelessness in Leeds and Bradford.
