Hi I’m Sam, owner and stylist at Elite Hair Studio Leeds. I have owned the salon for exactly 4 years now and literally started with just my savings and my hairdressing background but no outside help or funding.

A few weeks ago the other stylists and I decided that we would like to hold a charity event and raise some money. I personally wanted to raise money to help homeless people and the charity that sprung to mind was Simon On The Streets. I like the fact that their support is outreach work meeting homeless people in their own environment and the help is tailored to each individual rather than treating everyone as having one general issue.

We held our event on 1st July 2019 and invited people to come and have a hair cut, a wash & blow dry or styled. We also offered facials and threading and rather than asking anyone who attended to pay the actual price we accepted donations all if which we passed on to Simon On The Streets.

We had a really fun day and met some new people, the event also encouraged some people who aren’t regular salon goers to come and have a treatment done. We also did a raffle in which one person won a free facial and another person won a free set of eyelash extensions.

We also set up a Just Giving page for anyone and everyone to have the chance to donate to this lovely cause and managed to raise a grand total of £188.18.

We are very proud of for our first ever charity event at Elite Hair Studio Leeds. We would like to thank everyone who attended, donated and did anything at all to help.
