Last December, primary school children across Leeds took part in our first ever Elf Run. This Christmas-themed fun run saw almost 3,000 pupils aged 3-10 years old dress as Christmas elves and run, skip or walk to raise funds to support the homeless in Leeds, Bradford and Kirklees.

Each school picked their own distance and either ran a certain number of laps or chose to add up their miles over the course of a week. Five Lanes Primary school made this into a lesson and worked out the number of miles from their school to the North Pole, which was 2,501 miles in total.

The schools that took part included Colton Primary, Five Lanes Primary, Holy Name Catholic Voluntary Academy Primary, Little London Community Primary, St Oswald’s C of E Primary, Cookridge Holy Trinity Primary, St Patricks Primary, Summerfield Primary and Beeston Hill St Luke’s C of E Primary.

All the schools did an amazing job and collectively raised £10,000 to support the homeless in West Yorkshire. We’re so grateful to have these young supporters raise thousands to support our work and we look forward to getting more schools involved to make Christmas 2022’s Elf Run even bigger!
